Who we are?
We are a group of parents who are genuinely interested in supporting our school and children through fundraising and social activities. Each year we create a calendar of fundraising activities. We meet once a month to discuss and share what needs to be done to complete each of the fundraising activities. We help out with catering for special afternoon teas or meetings, and provide support to the school staff. We have an Annual General Meeting to elect a new committee in June each year.

What we do
As well as traditional activities like the Mothers’ and Fathers’ Day stalls, we hold an annual Twilight Fair in March. It is a brilliant evening of fun for the students, their families and the broader community. It provides the biggest fundraising event on our school calendar each year.
Other regular fundraising events include raffles, a Mango Drive, Bunnings sausage sizzles, Entertainment books, Toy/Games/Puzzle catalogues and other activities and events as they arise.
New fundraising ideas are warmly welcomed!
We are also registered in a number of fundraising initiatives within the community:
- The Good Guys Bayswater, 224-234 Canterbury Rd provides a Bayswater Bucks voucher for every $25 spent with them. These vouchers add up to provide the school with the opportunity to choose products from The Good Guys.
- Kilsyth Bakers Delight, Churinga Shopping Complex, Mt Dandenong Rd, Kilysth. Donate 5% of all sales for the school to redeem.
What we have achieved
Most recently, the fantastic fundraising efforts of the Montrose Primary School community provided air-conditioning to the purpose built Early Learning Centre that accommodates Prep and Grade 1 students. We also regularly support requests for library resources and sports resouces, such as uniforms and gym equipment.
In recent years, we have assisted in fitting out the school canteen, renovating the school library, and buying a new kiln for the art room. We have provided a portable PA system, which is used at a range of events within the school, and some marquees for sporting events. We provide some financial support to the School Council, particularly for projects to improve the schools buildings and grounds; and address other requests for financial support on an as needs basis. Upgrading playgrounds, and purchasing new playground equipment, has also been a focus in recent years.
How you can get involved
We invite you to become involved in the Parents Club. Everyone is welcome. We welcome anyone to join us for a monthly meeting, and whether you wish to become a regular member of simply help out on an as needs basis, we would love to meet you.
We meet once a month in the Parents Club Room (opposite the Drama Room), typically on a Tuesday morning after the 9am bell. The meeting dates are posted in the school newsletter. Small children are welcome and there are plenty of siblings of the school aged children to play with. For more information, please contact the School Principal on 97282203.
